GERALDINE McCAUGHREAN VISITS


The award winning author, Geraldine McCaughrean visited Pinewood on Monday 15th January to talk to years 6,7 and 8. Geraldine is the author of over 130 books for children. She talked about her recently published sequel to J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan, Peter Pan in Scarlet. Geraldine won a competition to write the official sequel, commissioned by Great Ormond Street Hospital who had the rights to the original book. Geraldine submitted a first chapter and outline of the plot and was chosen from 200 other applicants to write the sequel. She talked about some of her other books, including The White Darkness and Stop the Train. It was a very interesting and inspirational morning, enjoyed by everyone.
